Residential Support Worker – Children's Residential Support Location: Abergavenny, South Wales Contract: Full‑time, Permanent (42 hours per week) Salary: £30,000 OTE, £12.51 per hour, plus £67.50 sleep‑in (approx 8 nights per month) Closing Date: Sunday 28 December 2025 Job Overview Greenfields Children’s Service, part of the CareTech Family, is looking for a Residential Support Worker to join our team. The role involves specialist training in early trauma, CSE, HSB, children’s rights and participation, working within a multi‑disciplinary approach to achieve measurable outcomes. Core Responsibilities Deliver care and support to children in a residential setting. Plan and facilitate activities that promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and learning outcomes. Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to develop and review individual care plans. Maintain accurate and timely documentation and records. Support children in practicing daily living skills and independence. Essential Qualifications & Requirements Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to own transport (Full Manual licence required due to rural location). Experience in a similar residential care setting (minimum 3 months preferred). Ability to work a 2‑on/4‑off shift pattern (8 am – 10 pm plus sleep‑night shifts). Energetic, adaptable and able to thrive in a fast‑paced environment. Enjoy arranging and leading activities for children. Attention to individual and team safety and well‑being.
