An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and driven Energy & Sustainability Manager to lead strategic initiatives across a diverse property portfolio. This role is central to enhancing energy efficiency, reducing carbon emissions, and embedding sustainable practices throughout the organisation. Based in the City fringe offices. Key Responsibilities Lead the effective management of energy resources across the business. Develop and implement a comprehensive energy and sustainability strategy aligned with organisational goals. Engage and train staff to foster a culture of sustainability and behavioural change. Conduct energy audits to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for improvement. Resolve billing discrepancies and technical meter faults. Design and deliver low and zero-carbon initiatives to improve operational efficiency. Benchmark ESG data (energy, water, waste) and identify optimisation opportunities. Communicate sustainability achievements to internal and external stakeholders. Prepare costed proposals and reports for energy efficiency projects. Develop and implement a Carbon Management Plan. Liaise with contractors and agencies to deliver carbon reduction projects. Launch a Carbon Literacy Programme. Improve data collection accuracy for carbon accounting. Establish and monitor KPIs to track performance. Prepare the annual Streamlined Energy & Carbon Reporting (SECR). Advise on sustainable procurement and supply chain practices. Core Competencies Strong knowledge of energy efficiency and sustainable technologies. Ability to produce and present detailed proposals and reports. Skilled communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders, including financial institutions. Qualifications & Experience Degree in Energy & Sustainability, Engineering, Building Services, or a related field. Professional qualifications in energy efficiency or low-carbon solutions (desirable). Membership in relevant professional bodies (e.g., CIBSE, Energy Institute). Proven experience in energy management, procurement, and compliance. Background in sustainable energy within the real estate sector preferred. Familiarity with sustainability frameworks and bodies (e.g., UKGBC, NABERS). Excellent project management, communication, and presentation skills.
