GETTING IT RIGHT FIRST TIME (GIRFT) Programme Clinical Lead - GIRFT Elective Hub Accreditation Medical & Dental – three sessions per week Fixed Term Opportunity – 1 year An experienced clinician is needed to join the GIRFT accreditation planning and implementation team at the Surrey Surgical Centre, Ashford Hospital. The Clinical Lead will provide strategic and clinical leadership to ensure successful delivery of the GIRFT accreditation programme. Working closely with the GIRFT Accreditation Associate, the Surrey Surgical Centre Programme Director and wider leadership team, the post holder will oversee clinical governance, data validation and service improvement initiatives aligned with accreditation standards. The Surrey Surgical Centre GIRFT Accreditation assessment visit is due to take place in March 2026 and the elective hub must demonstrate compliance with GIRFT Accreditation quality, productivity and efficiency domains of practice. The accreditation process will include collection of key data and performance metrics while working with clinical and operational teams on delivery of key accreditation measures. Responsibilities The Clinical Lead for GIRFT Elective Hub Accreditation will support the GIRFT approach in relation to elective hub accreditation and enable lead clinicians and their teams to act on recommendations from GIRFT reviews, tackle challenges and findings arising from those reviews and the GIRFT elective hub accreditation gap analysis work. Key duties include: Provide expert clinical leadership to support the GIRFT Accreditation Framework programme within the Surrey Surgical Centre. Ensure clinical services meet high standards of care, reduce unwarranted variation and are aligned with national best practice. Lead and influence multidisciplinary teams to implement accreditation measures and continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate with operational teams to collect, validate and analyse performance data for accreditation reporting. Drive change at a senior level in a complex hospital environment and demonstrate capability for large scale clinical service change. Qualifications and Experience Fully qualified in respective clinical profession. Full registration with the General Medical Council (without restrictions or warnings). Evidence of continued learning and professional development. Certificate of Completion of Specialist Training (or CCT) by the time of taking up the post or accredited for inclusion on the General Medical Council's Specialist Register. Demonstrable capability and capacity for large scale clinical service change at a senior level in a complex hospital environment. Skilled and effective clinical leader recognised as an expert by colleagues. Currently practising within a relevant Clinical Specialty (or has practised within the last 2 years). All applicants must satisfy statutory checks including a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and, where applicable, sponsorship requirements for skilled worker status.
