Test Automation Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated Test Automation Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing, building, and maintaining automated testing solutions that ensure the delivery of high-quality, secure, and reliable software.This role requires a strong technical background in test engineering, excellent collaboration skills, and a proven ability to work in fast-paced Agile environments.ResponsibilitiesAutomated testing of deployments to cloud environments (e.g. AWS, EKS etc.) through pipelinesImproving the quality of infrastructure deployments through automated testing - reducing issues arising after deployment.Test the actual instance/infrastructure itself and less the application that is being deployedTesting instances to make sure they have been deployed correctly and are working as expected.Chaos testing of deployments/instances to make sure that they behave as expected if an instance goes down for some reason.Define the approach for setting up the test infrastructure and use the outputs to drive technical improvements.Communicate with other teams and share technical resources, knowledge and lessons learned (with regards to testing automation)Infrastructure-as-Code testing principles.Strong knowledge of test engineering best practices.Experience with functional and non-functional testing (performance, security, accessibility, etc.).Skilled in systems integration testing and microservices/API testing.Hands-on experience with security testing and understanding of associated risks.Proficiency in performance testing methodologies and tools.Proven ability to develop and maintain automated test suites.Experience with test infrastructure tools such as Docker and containerisation.Strong understanding of TDD and BDD principles.Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation in build and deployment workflows.Strong Java (11/17/21) development experience and knowledge of the Spring Boot framework.Experience with test frameworks such as Cucumber, REST Assured, and WireMock.Hands-on knowledge of front-end testing frameworks such as Selenium.Experience in accessibility testing in line with WCAG standards.SC Security Clearance (or eligibility) required to access production logs.Desired AttributesExcellent problem-solving and analytical skills.Strong communication skills, able to clearly convey technical findings to non-technical stakeholders.Proactive approach to identifying risks, issues, and improvements.Passion for continuous learning, technology, and quality assurance.What we offerA company culture based on respect, transparency, and equality.Flexible work hours and hybrid remote work.25 days\' holiday plus bank holidaysTraining and Career ProgressionSharing the cultureInfotel UK is an equal opportunity employer, and we pride ourselves on our diversity.
