Electronics Engineer – Fareham We are looking for a motivated and experienced Electronics Engineer to join our Saab Seaeye Under Water Robotics Business Unit in Fareham. This 12‑month FTC role offers the opportunity to research and develop cutting‑edge solutions for novel and challenging problems, with a focus on design integrity and attention to detail. Design and development of new electronic/electrical products for underwater vehicles. Opportunities to lead projects and coordinate activities across Engineering, Purchasing, Operations, Sales, and Logistics. Design and test electronic systems for power conversion and high‑speed communication, ensuring LVD/EMC compliance. Develop requirements specifications, test procedures and conduct system‑level integration and testing. Work independently or as part of project teams with minimal supervision. Skills and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering (or equivalent). Full‑life‑cycle design experience including change management. Experience with DC‑to‑DC converters, mixed‑signal design, board layout, and interface buses (I2C, SPI, RS485, CAN, Ethernet). Comfortable with managing quantified risks in novel designs. System Safety Engineer – Fareham Sensor Systems UK is seeking a System Safety Engineer to influence the safety of Saab products throughout their life cycle. The role requires collaboration with system design, software, mechanics, and electrical teams. Identify and manage risks, develop mitigation strategies, and analyse hazards. Define safety requirements based on regulations and ensure traceability across the system life cycle. Design safety systems and architecture to meet safety goals. Develop safety validation and verification plans, prepare certification paperwork, and maintain safety monitoring processes. Lead incident investigations, provide root cause analysis, and develop corrective actions. Deliver safety training and awareness programmes for stakeholders. Act as the lead SME on safety working groups for UK MoD contracts. Your Profile: Degree or higher in Engineering (or related field). Knowledge of Civilian & Military Safety Standards (Def Stan 00‑55 & 00‑56, ISO 45001:2018) and regulatory compliance. Experience with risk assessment techniques (FMEA, FTA, HAZOP). Experience conducting safety testing, including HIL, simulation, and field testing. Experience implementing safety monitoring systems. Excellent communication, analytical and problem‑solving skills. Preferred: Relevant safety certification (CSP, CIH, etc.) and SC security clearance. Electronic Engineer – Lymington This role requires a strong PCB and design engineer to develop, test and support new and existing electronic products. Design of analog and digital low‑power electronics hardware. Detailed design from concept to manufacturing. Conduct tests, fault‑finding, and corrective actions. Support product validation including commissioning, EMC and ESD testing. Produce Bills of Materials, technical documentation and support production. Provide technical support to Product Management and Sales Teams. Skills & Experience: Experience as an Electronic Engineer or similar role. Solid Schematic capture, multi‑layer PCB layout and 3‑D CAD design skills. Knowledge of Altium (or similar) and Gerber file verification. Understanding of safety standards for electrical and mechanical components. Experience with process improvement and automation.
