Community Staff Nurse – Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust We are Manchester Local Care Organisation – an exciting, new public sector organisation that brings together NHS community health services and social care services in the city. We’re driven by the aim of improving the health of local people in Manchester by working across organisational boundaries. The Dermot Murphy Unit is based in the M20 locality of South Manchester close to the Metro and Bus links. Built on its own beautiful grounds, this modern purpose‑built unit has its own parking and a chef and social event coordinator to create a “home from home” atmosphere for residents. The unit is a Continuing Healthcare nurse‑led facility, accommodating 22 residents with complex and unpredictable physical healthcare needs such as following acquired brain injury or a diagnosis of a progressive neurological, respiratory, cardiac or renal disease. Residents may require complex airway or feeding regimes, including full invasive ventilation. We are now recruiting band 5 staff nurses and are looking for individuals who have excellent communication skills and an enthusiastic approach to nursing. This post requires weekend and bank holiday working as well as internal rotation onto nights.
