To provide front line technical, IT, resources and facilities related support to students and staff with the focus on the provision of an exceptional student experience. This may include support at differing locations depending on the needs of the campus and business as a whole.Duties and ResponsibilitiesAssisting the Campus Team in the setup and maintenance of equipment for lessons, coursework, exams and special eventsEnsuring all facilities and resources are clean, tidy and well maintainedActing as point of contact on site for Students and Staff requiring assistance and/or support with equipment, facilities and resourcesResponding to and resolving support requests in a timely mannerOverseeing equipment booking systems, booking resources out to staff and studentsSetting up equipment for and supporting with live events, open days and other special events, including evenings and weekends as requiredImplementing a regular preventative maintenance schedule to ensure equipment and facilities are always in good order and fully functionalLiaising with external contractors regarding electrical, security, fire alarm maintenance and upgrade workEnsuring building systems (alarms etc.) are tested routinely across site and accurate records are maintained in line with company processes and proceduresSupporting students and staff with the setup and breakdown of technical and specialist resourcesActing as keyholder for the site, responsible for opening/closing the building and being available out of hours to answer alarm call outsWorking with the Facilities Manager to plan and upgrade facilities, including budgeting for works and appointing contractorsWorking with the technician team to plan and implement room upgrades and redesignsAssisting with the creation and management of inductions and user tests for specialist facilitiesManaging room bookings, working with the Head of Center in timetabling sessions and resourcesOffering support to student projects and outside events by keeping an overview of the curriculum and consulting with tutorsLiaising with IT technicians and central IT team to ensure a smooth running of the IT infrastructureSkills and Experience requiredThe Technician will require a good operational knowledge and skills in a range of technical equipment and software used in the delivery of the center’s curriculum, including but not limited to:Games engines including Unity, Unreal and BlenderVR headsets, cameras and videography equipmentAdobe Creative SuitePA & lighting systems, including working knowledge of DMX control and AV network protocolsComputer workstations and operating systems; Mac OS, ChromeOS, WindowsMusic Production software; Logic Pro and Ableton LiveMusic Production hardware; analogue and digital mixing desk, outboard, patch-bays, microphones, MIDI controllers, synths etc.IT management systems; JAMF, Google WorkspaceAcoustic and electronic instrumentsClassroom AV equipment; monitors, cameras etcWeb streaming hardware and software; Black Magic ATEM vision mixers, OBS and streaming platformsTroubleshooting and fault finding AV and IT network systemsBasic electronic maintenance; making and repairing a range of cables, replacing serviceable partsAbility to work with a range of tools and carry out basic building repairs/maintenanceGeneral ResponsibilitiesAll employees have a general duty in law to take reasonable care for the health and safety of themselves and of other persons who may be affected by their acts or omissions.Understand and be committed to the organisation’s Health and Safety Policy statement and its safety priorities and be aware of your contribution to such priorities.Be aware of and comply with the health and safety legislation and other ATM requirements that are relevant to this post.Promote equality and diversity in the workplace and through the curriculum and set the tone for behaviour between colleagues and learnersBe familiar with Safeguarding Children and Young People requirements as outlined in the Safeguarding policy and comply with its requirements to safeguard and protect the welfare of children and vulnerable adultsEnsure personal professional development is continuously updated and participate in all activities designed to improve the quality of provision for learnersSeniority levelMid-Senior levelEmployment typeFull-timeJob functionEngineering and Information TechnologyIndustries: Primary and Secondary EducationNote: This description has been reformatted for clarity and compliance with formatting guidelines.
