Software Asset Analyst – Cambridge University Press & Assessment Job Details Job Title: Software Asset Analyst Salary: £34,500 – £44,850 Location: The Triangle Building, Cambridge, Hybrid (minimum 2 days per week in the office) Contract: Permanent, 35 hours per week (compressed hours available) About the Role As the Software Asset Analyst, you will manage our software estate, controlling software assets throughout their lifecycle. Responsibilities include managing requests, ensuring compliance, maintaining inventories, usage tracking, disposal, and maximising value and total cost of ownership. Managing the entire lifecycle of software assets, from initial request and procurement to deployment, maintenance and retirement. Ensuring adherence to all software licensing terms and maintaining an accurate inventory. Identifying opportunities to reduce software costs through licence optimisation, vendor negotiations and efficient resource allocation. Contributing to the development, implementation and improvement of software asset management policies and procedures. About You We are looking for a highly organised, detail‑oriented individual with a knack for data analysis and problem‑solving. Successful candidates will: Have 2+ years’ experience in a similar role or equivalent, knowledge of Tier 1 vendors preferred. Work collaboratively with colleagues, support group projects and team goals. Guide, motivate and inspire others, demonstrating delegation, decision‑making and conflict resolution skills. Identify issues, analyse situations and develop effective solutions, demonstrating a proactive and resourceful approach. Prioritise multiple work streams with strong organisational skills. Communicate clearly, both written and verbally, actively listen and build rapport.
