Electrical Design Engineers - All Levels - ReadingElectrical Design Engineers - All Levels - ReadingFull timeReading / Hybrid, United KingdomElectricalOur engineering design team is experiencing substantial growth and we are opening new design hubs through the UK and are now recruiting for Electrical Design Engineers of all levels, to join our team.We are a friendly and professional multi-disciplined team, responsible for the design management of a variety projects within the water & process and energy sectors and this role is reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager. Individuals will be responsible for managing all aspects of electrical design and there is a clear career path in place to help develop the careers of our valued Engineers.Duties include but are not limited to:Management of project specific design deliverablesCarry out design in accordance with M&E Design QA ProceduresResponsible for the detailed design in accordance with the company proceduresInterpret & understand the client requirements from client documents (drawings, specifications, correspondence, etc.)Communicate with the client, external design resources and subcontractors to ensure compliance with specificationSite surveys of existing assetsOptioneering and feasibility studiesAssist with tender pricingProduction of procurement specifications for electrical equipment and production of detailed design construction drawingsProject managing third party designs and providing design assistance to installation and commissioning teamsReview of vendors controls system Functional design specifications for complianceReview of vendor data and drawings for all electrical equipment and package plant, motor control centres, power distribution panels and field equipment panelsManagement of internal and external project specific design costs in liaison with the Project ManagerUndertaking and checking of design calculations including modelling of the complete power system (AMTECH)Preparation of drawings for CAD productionAssist in the development of process control philosophies with the Process Engineer and suppliersProduction of electrical scope and works enquiry submission documentsEstimation of material and labour costsUndertake design risk assessments to support detailed design proposalsPreparing detailed electrical specificationsProduction of single line and block cable diagrams, load schedules, equipment specifications, cable schedules, equipment schedules, telemetry schedules, instrument schedules and I/O listingsRecord and document all design changes through to completion and issue of ‘As Built’ documentsLiaise with clients and subcontractorsQualifications/background:Experience of working on water/wastewater and/or energy projectsChartered Engineer status would be advantageous but not essentialAbout Trant:Trant Engineering Ltd has a long history of engineering and construction excellence, delivering high quality EPC engineering and construction services throughout the UK and overseas.
