Infrastructure & Network Security Engineer (Hybrid) Permanent role with a global insurance leader, based in Guildford with 1–2 days on site each week. Competitive base salary up to £80k with performance bonus, pension and additional benefits. Snapshot Infrastructure & Network Security Specialist Guildford, 1–2 days on site per week Global, prestigious insurance firm £80k base + Annual performance related Bonus, generous pension, and a broad benefits package Responsibilities You will be responsible for the Information Security framework and will work closely with other departments and 3rd parties to ensure full compliance and effective implementation. Your key tasks will include: Accountability for all Information Security risks and controls owned by IT. Regulator reporting and management of outsourced partners and their adherence to the control framework. Engagement in projects to ensure overall compliance and continuous improvement. Qualifications One or more of CISA, CISSP, or CRISC certification. Good working knowledge of NIST and COBIT frameworks. Deep understanding of data centre/network and workplace architectures and operations within the insurance industry and the broader market. Strong knowledge of security design, including cryptography, within infrastructure, application and workplace environments. Proven experience in IT with hands‑on security tooling, risk analysis or governance roles in complex enterprise environments. Strong understanding of communication protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, HTTP/S, SMTP), network architecture and security technologies. Hands‑on experience with proxy servers, email gateways, firewalls, and routing devices. Familiarity with industry standards and frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls, and ITIL. Experience with automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for configuration and compliance checks. Knowledge of patch and vulnerability management tools and practices. Understanding of identity and access management (IAM) principles and technologies.
