Job Description We have an exciting opportunity for an Experienced Leakage Inspector to join the Water Distribution team at Yorkshire Water and be a part of helping Yorkshire Water to provide the best service to our customers. DMA Leakage Inspectors are responsible for proactively investigating 'Distribution Monitored Areas' using acoustic detection equipment to identify, pinpoint and promote leaks on our distribution network to our service partners for repair. Benefits Competitive salary: £27,916 - £34,562 (depending on experience) A company van Annual incentive related bonus (£1000 maximum bonus opportunity for the performance year) Attractive pension scheme (12% company contribution) Development opportunities in line with the Leakage Inspector progression plan 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays plus an extra wellness day Life assurance cover of 4 times pensionable salary Health cash plan scheme, critical illness insurance, dental insurance, life assurance flex and partner cover Retail savings scheme Online GP service, cycle to work scheme, gym membership discounts and many more Responsibilities Effectively and proactively investigate DMAs issued, locate and promote leakage which contributes to the reduction in area leakage levels Account for usage to eliminate non-leakage from the leakage reporting process Risk assessments to ensure all activities are safe and delivered with minimal customer impact Validate and quantify all work promoted to service partners to ensure optimal leakage reduction Create and maintain strong relationships with Field and service partner personnel to help support with leakage reduction and ensure jobs are resolved Take ownership of private leakage jobs and manage them through to resolution Take responsibility for own health and safety and the health and safety of others through leadership by example and reporting through corporate systems Qualifications and Skills Leak detection and resolution using acoustic sounding equipment (listening sticks and ground microphones) Use leak sound correlation equipment, including the ability to use filters, carry out velocity checks and use hydrophones Leak detection utilising fixed and lift and shift acoustic loggers Use correlating loggers (Enigma and Sound Sens) and be able to successfully interpret the information they provide Designing and implementing step tests Use Netbase (Latis Lite) to understand DMA day/night usage patterns, potential leaks and reductions due to repairs Effectively quantify and validate leakage Zero pressure testing, zone integrity tests & pressure logging Ability to work unsociable hours (nights and weekends) NRSWA, Water Hygiene and Manual Handling training Full clean driving licence Application Process If successful for the role, you will be required to undergo pre-employment checks that will include a Basic Disclosure Check, carried out through a Third-Party Company, prior to commencing employment.
