Our client is a successful and well-established leading manufacturer, they have a high-quality, diverse product portfolio, and operates globally in many countries around the world. They are looking to employ several Mobile Installation & Service Technicians to be trained as Field Service Engineers, to carry out the installation, service and maintenance to the company's products at customer sties across the Scotland area.
They are looking for skilled individuals that are naturally skilled with a wide variety of hand and power tools (essential). Industry experience is not essential, as they will provide full training on their portfolio of products.
ESSENTIAL - PLEASE ONLY APPLY IF:
• You have experience of working in a client/customer facing role to carry out hands-on repairs, maintenance, or installation of products at customer sites.
• You are confident with a wide range of hand and power tools.
• You are happy to work on a 24/7 call out rota (there is a rotating plan with other Engineers, could be once or twice a week, to be confirmed).
• You can commute to the Cumbernauld area (site is based here for parts, etc.)
NOTE:
• All Field Service Engineers will join the on-call rota, the frequency will be determined by your line manager.
• There may be a requirement to stay away from home for training, perhaps up to 1 week. Also, there is a voluntary / optional choice to occassionally help out other regions away from your home area (not compulsary, and very rare).
Summary of the role:
• Under the supervision of your line manager, carry out repairs and servicing of all the company’s and competitors’ equipment, when requested.
• To install, collect and exchange all the said equipment when requested. Movement of competitors’ equipment may be required.
• To carry out product cleaning in line with the company infection control policy and turnaround servicing of all products.
• To accurately record and keep all necessary paperwork and administration documentation in pursuance of the job objectives, ensuring the same is submitted to the right place, in the required timescales.
Main Activities/Responsibilities:
• Efficiently carry out repairs and servicing on a range of company and competitor products.
• Ensure all work carried out is of a high standard and quality.
• Effectively plan your day to ensure as many repairs and services can be completed in one day.
• Travel between numerous sites will be required, including going into customers’ homes.
• Communicate effectively and efficiently with your team members, manager, and the Service Customer Solutions Advisors.
• Exceed customers’ expectations by ensuring you always give great customer experience.
• Liaise with clients, sales personnel, and company personnel at all levels.
• Good manual handling skills are essential (e.g., moving equipment, working in cramped or restricted position)
• Driving is a major part of the role so good driving skills and attention for detail is required.
• Ability to deal with emotional with mental stress as you are dealing with customers that are ill and family members that are under considerable strain.
• Ensure all company procedures are followed, including infection control, health & safety etc.
• Manage stock levels on your company van and ensure all stock procedures are followed.
• Complete and return all paperwork, ensuring it is correct, legible, and returned within expect time frames.
• Carry out regular inspections on your company vehicle and report any issues to you line manager.
• Look after company equipment and report any equipment issues to your line manager.
• To be pro-active and anticipate problems or needs and be able to manage these or seek assistance from there manager when in doubt.
Required Experience:
• Their product portfolio is a wide variety of Hospital and Care Home beds, seats, stretchers, hoists, stair lifts, wheelchairs, and many more related products. If you have experience with carrying out repairs to any of these it would be an advantage (however full training will be given).
• Service Administration e.g., timesheets, overtime sheets and Job sheets
• Inventory Control
Salary up to £27k (depending on experience) + Company Van + On-Call bonus + Overtime (£30k OTE)
NOTE - The company Van will be provided, this can be used to go to work and back home, however it will not be allowed for personal use due to no business insurance.
Hours of work: Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 5.00pm + 24/7 on-call rota.
There are 2 call out rates, one being a 24 hour rate, and the other being a non-24 hour rate:
* Monday-Friday: £25 a day for 24 hour call out, or £10 a day for non-24 hour.
* Saturday-Sunday: £45 a day for 24 hour call out, or £35 a day for non-24 hour.
Overtime rate is £19.50 per hour for work done during call out.
