PCB Technologist Location: Bristol / Stevenage Employment Type: Full-Time | Permanent Salary: Circa £40,000 depending on experience + Benefits About the Role: We are looking for a talented and detail-driven PCB Technologist to join our engineering team working on cutting-edge defense and aerospace systems. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the development of high-performance electronics in a fast-paced, innovative environment. Key Responsibilities Collaborate with design engineers to produce PCB layouts that meet electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing requirements. Convert schematic diagrams into manufacturable PCB designs using industry-standard CAD tools. Ensure designs comply with IPC standards and internal design rules. Support prototype and production builds by working closely with internal and external manufacturing partners. Participate in design reviews and provide technical input to improve performance, reliability, and manufacturability. Maintain accurate documentation and configuration control throughout the design lifecycle. Required Skills & Experience Solid experience in PCB design and layout, preferably within aerospace, defense, or other high-reliability sectors. Proficiency with tools such as Mentor Graphics, Altium Designer, or Cadence Allegro. Strong understanding of signal integrity, EMC, thermal management, and DFM principles. Familiarity with IPC standards (e.g., IPC-2221, IPC-7351). Excellent communication and teamwork skills. HNC / HND or degree in Electronics Engineering or a related field. Desirable Experience with rigid-flex and HDI technologies. Knowledge of PCB fabrication processes and materials. Ability to thrive in a multidisciplinary, fast-paced environment.
