Overview The Renal Satellite unit at Ealing Hospital is a 19‑station Adult Haemodialysis Unit caring for patients with chronic renal failure requiring maintenance haemodialysis treatment. Key Responsibilities Lead a group of nurses within the team in the haemodialysis unit. Carry out planned care for a group of patients without direct supervision. Ensure the assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of evidence‑based, individualised patient care for a team of patients. Plan, organise and deploy staff according to ability and workload to meet patient needs within the team. Co‑ordinate the shift in the absence of the unit manager, ensuring adequate handover, effective staff allocation and triage of patient referrals; liaise with inpatient wards and satellite units on patient transfer where applicable. Assess the needs of patients, relatives and carers and provide them with information as requested; liaise with the dietician, counsellor and the transplant team. Keep up to date with current developments in nursing and ensure evidence‑based practice. Develop new skills and knowledge pertaining to the speciality as advised by the senior sister or charge nurse. Qualifications We are looking for a Registered Nurse with the relevant clinical skills and at least 3 years' experience in the haemodialysis setting. The candidate will have significant post‑registration experience including a recognised Renal Course and teaching qualification, and a desire to further develop management skills. Shift Details Three shifts Monday to Saturday, 07:00 – 23:30, closed Sundays.
