Nicholson Hird Ltd is working in partnership with a long established FMCG manufacturer in the recruitment of an accomplished Site Hygiene Lead to lead, develop and motivate hygiene operatives across all shifts, and ensure site wide hygiene programmes are developed and sustained to ensure GMP and customer standards are upheld and succeeded. This site is going through significant change at present, with a new ERP implementation and significant capital investment, so this is a great time of growth and positive challenge The Hygiene Lead will ensure the site is 'audit ready' at all times, cleaned to the rigorous demands of food industry standards (BRC, FSSC22000), and will work to ensure sustained levels of documentation and standardisation in hygiene practice across production and non-production areas. They'll also lead and support a small team of facilities engineers, and ensure facilities related schedules are adhered to, managing subcontractor requirements for site, with safety in mind at all times. Key skills Previous experience in a Hygiene leadership or management role, in food or beverage manufacturing Ideally Level 5 equivalent in leadership, or willing to train to this level if not - formal training and education will be offered and supported. Strong skills in leadership and management, able to lead a multiskilled team, able to identify skills gaps, motivate and mentor employees from a range of disciplines Knowledge and experience with 6S preferred Well experienced in planning and scheduling a site hygiene programme, preparing cleaning schedules, preparing audits, using data to drive decisions around process improvements and better efficiencies Previous experience in subcontractor management is desirable A passionate leader of people, who shows genuine interest and ability in developing, coaching and mentoring others, encouraging them to meet their own potential Any previous exposure to facilities management will be useful though is not essential, but a willingness to take on this responsibility is key. We seek a highly organised, well structured, data driven and process oriented food Hygiene professional, who will drive change through promoting consistently high standards and expectations, bring an infectious enthusiasm to the team, inspire and influence and collaborate well with other departments to ensure the best integration of the hygiene team in the wider business.
