SCS Community Nurse - Specialist Community Paediatrics NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non‑clinical professions. We provide acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million, growing to 2.2 million including our regional and national services. The Glasgow Community Children’s Nursing Team has one full‑time equivalent (WTE) Band 5 Staff Nurse post available, working 37 hours per week. The team is open Monday to Friday 09:00‑17:00. You will be expected to provide an accessible, appropriate, high‑quality, culturally sensitive and effective nursing service to children and young people aged 0‑19 in the community, working in partnership with service users, care providers and other agencies. Under the direction of the Team Lead and the Band 6 caseload holder, the post holder will assess the care needs of children and families, and develop, implement and evaluate holistic, family‑centred care plans. You will provide advice, support and training to parents and carers, empowering them to care for children at home or in other community settings. You will collaborate with colleagues from Acute Services, Education, Social Work and the wider Health team in Specialist Community Paediatric Services, as well as statutory and voluntary agencies, to promote joint working and high standards of care. The post holder is expected to work throughout the NHS Greater Glasgow area. It is essential that you are an NMC Registered Nurse. You must provide evidence of continued professional development and demonstrate good communication skills. It is essential that you hold a current driver licence and have access to a car for work purposes. This post requires PVG Scheme Membership/Disclosure Scotland Check.
