Multi Skilled Maintenance Technician – GEDU Global Education Location: Leeds, United Kingdom Contract: Permanent Department: Facilities About Us: GBS is a higher education provider offering a range of sector‑relevant courses across ten campuses in London, Birmingham, Leeds and Manchester. Role Summary: The Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer will maintain, install, and refurbish fabric and equipment across the GBS UK estates portfolio. They will monitor the condition of GBS buildings, undertake repairs and renovations, and assist Estates and Facilities in the planning of refurbishment projects. The role may require travel to other GBS UK campuses and demands flexible working to accommodate business operations. The engineer works a 40‑hour week, covering campus operating hours from Monday to Sunday, 7:00 am to 9:30 pm, with occasional out‑of‑hours work as required to minimise disruption and ensure the smooth completion of maintenance tasks. Key Responsibilities Preventative and reactive maintenance of building systems. Maintenance of building infrastructure and equipment. Ensure health, safety and compliance standards. Document and manage inventory of maintenance supplies. Lead refurbishment and fit‑out projects. Travel and flexibility to meet operational needs. Experience & Skills Required 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification. City & Guilds Level 2 and/or Level 3 in Electrical Installations, or equivalent NVQ, or demonstrable experience to the same standard. Previous experience in building maintenance including M&E systems. Manual skills and knowledge of refurbishment techniques. Flexible, proactive, “can‑do” attitude. Familiarity with COSHH requirements for equipment and chemicals. Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work independently and as part of a wider facilities team. Full, clean driving licence.
