We are looking to recruit a passionate Female Relief Support Worker to join our dedicated team of Support Workers in the Worksop area. Do you want to make a positive difference to people’s lives? For some people, Support Work is something they would love to do but life makes it difficult to commit to a full or part‑time position. That is where the role of a Relief Support Worker comes in – it offers flexibility to choose shifts based on your availability and the needs of the service. As a Relief Support Worker flexibility is key – you may be required to work a variety of shifts across weekdays, weekends, bank holidays, mornings, afternoons, evenings, sleep‑ins and waking nights. A positive mindset and a desire to improve the lives of those with a learning disability are essential. You should be able to think quickly and maintain a can‑do attitude. Supporting people to live independently – budget management, paying bills, housework, organising appointments and cooking healthy meals. Relationship building – helping individuals understand the world and promote positive relationships. Community & Social Inclusion – supporting individuals to access and participate in their local community and social events to promote life skills and individuality. Personal care – assisting with bathing, showering, dressing and medication prompts as required. Driver preferred but not essential. Sleep‑in is required for this service and flexibility is essential. Working days are between 07:00–22:00. A non‑contractual sleep‑in is also available with an enhanced flat‑rate payment of £63.70. Please note: This position does not meet the minimum salary requirements for a Health and Care visa under the UK Skilled Worker route, as set by the Home Office. Therefore, although Mencap is a licensed sponsor, we are unable to offer sponsorship for this role. Applicants must already have the legal right to work in the UK; we cannot support new visa applications or sponsorship requests for this vacancy.
