The Ideal Candidate:
Curriculum Planning and Development:
Develop and deliver an engaging and comprehensive English curriculum that aligns with national standards and school objectives.
Design lesson plans that cater to a variety of learning styles and abilities within the classroom.
Classroom Instruction:
Deliver effective, inspiring English lessons to secondary school students (KS3 and KS4).
Use diverse teaching methods, resources, and technologies to enhance student understanding and foster engagement.
Cultivate a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages active participation, critical thinking, and collaboration.
Assessment and Evaluation:
Regularly assess student progress using both formative and summative assessments.
Provide constructive feedback to students, guiding them to improve and build on their achievements.
Keep accurate and up-to-date records of student grades and progress.
Differentiation and Individualised Instruction:
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of all students, including those with varying abilities and learning styles.
Provide additional support or challenges to ensure academic success for every student.
Parent and Stakeholder Communication:
Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians regarding student progress, classroom activities, and upcoming events.
Participate in parent-teacher meetings to discuss student performance and address concerns.
Professional Development:
Stay current with the latest developments and best practices in English education.
Participate in professional development opportunities to continually enhance teaching skills and expertise.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Education, English, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus).
Teaching certification or license in secondary education with a focus on English.
Proven experience teaching English at the secondary school level.
Strong knowledge of curriculum design, instructional strategies, and assessment practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A genuine passion for nurturing a positive and supportive learning environment.
Enhanced DBS Certificate.
