The Opportunity We're looking for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join the on-site reliability engineering team. Initially working permanent days until April/May 2026, you'll transition into a 4-week Days / 4-week Back Shift rotation thereafter. You’ll carry out planned preventative maintenance, respond to equipment breakdowns, and play a key role in maintaining critical production machinery across the site. What you’ll be doing Completing routine planned maintenance on a wide range of process equipment Responding to breakdowns safely and effectively Diagnosing mechanical faults and carrying out repairs within competence Working with equipment such as: CNC machinery Automation systems Controls Heat‑treatment and pressure systems Site services Hydraulic schematics and machine drawings Shift Overview Day Shift: Mon‑Fri, 07:30‑16:00 (until Apr/May 2026) Rotation (from mid‑2026): 4 weeks Days → 4 weeks Back Shift Back Shift: Mon‑Thu 15:00‑23:30, Fri 11:00‑16:00 (+26% premium) Call‑out rota begins after probation (1 in 6). No call‑outs during Back Shift rotation. What you’ll need to succeed You’ll bring a hands‑on engineering background, strong diagnostic ability, and a proactive approach to maintenance and reliability. Essential Time‑served Mechanical Engineer Experience in engineering or production environments Basic electrical understanding Competent using Microsoft Word/Excel Desirable HNC qualification FLT / IPAF licences (training provided if required) Why join the team?
