We are committed to ensuring our staff have the right skills, knowledge & experience to deliver to our customers, as well as creating career paths to help develop, retain, and motivate them.About The RoleDue to business growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for the new role of Electrical Design Engineer, based out of our Chandlers Ford site. As Electrical Design Engineer you'll be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems and solutions for a variety of projects, ensuring that they meet both functional requirements and safety standards, regulations, and project requirements.You'll collaborate closely with the solutions team, project managers, and project delivery team to deliver high-quality electrical designs within budget and schedule.Main ResponsibilitiesPrepare detailed electrical design calculations, drawings, and specifications, ensuring compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., IEE, IEC, BS standards).Develop electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts using CAD software.Provide technical advice and guidance on electrical systems during all project phases, from concept through to build and commissioning.Review project plans, specifications, and proposals to ensure compliance with electrical system design standards.Foster a collaborative environment that encourages growth and knowledge sharing.Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Solutions, BIM Team, and Project Managers, to integrate electrical systems with Selwood projects.Ensure all electrical designs adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations.Conduct electrical load calculations and fault analysis to ensure system safety and reliability.Perform risk assessments to identify potential electrical hazards and design mitigating solutions.Work with the commissioning team to troubleshoot and resolve any issues during the testing phase.Maintain accurate records of electrical designs, changes, and approvals.Prepare reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and clients.Provide regular progress updates and technical reports to the project team.Qualifications & ExperienceBachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field.Proven experience as an Electrical Design Engineer, with a strong portfolio of successfully completed electrical designs.Experience with electrical system design.Strong understanding of electrical design software, such as AutoCAD Electrical, Electrical OM or similar tools.Ability to perform risk assessments and safety evaluations.Ability to work independently and under pressure to meet deadlines.Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-disciplinary teams.In-depth knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., IEE Wiring Regulations, IEC standards, etc.)Familiarity with electrical design calculations, such as fault level calculations, cable sizing, and protection coordination.What we can offer youCompetitive salaryEligible for company bonus scheme (annual and quarterly payments)Medicash Scheme - medical expenses scheme (access to 24hour online GP services, discounted gym memberships)Bupa Private Medical at Single levelPension scheme with contribution based on total earnings not just salary25 days holiday + 8 Bank HolidaysIncreasing annual leave entitlement with long service3x your annual salary life insurance (DIS)Support for development and trainingEmployee assistance programme (EAP) & access to Mental Health first aidersEmployee discount scheme (discounts/vouchers for supermarkets, high street shops, holidays and more)Employee referral schemeThis role is not open to Agencies - Please no calls or emails - Thank you.EDI StatementWorkdry International Ltd is committed to encouraging equality, diversity, and inclusion among our workforce, and eliminating unlawful discrimination.We value transparency, respecting others and understanding differences.
