Litigated Motor Claims Handler

Overview As a Litigated Credit Hire Specialist at Keoghs you will play a central role in championing clients’ interests in high‑stakes credit hire cases. You will investigate complex credit hire claims, from tactical and strategic perspectives, and help to successfully repudiating claims up to £25,000 in value. Location Newcastle, England, United Kingdom Department Claims Management Key Accountabilities Review and analyse files throughout the life of the case in accordance with client guidelines. Develop and maintain client relationships, keeping the client at the heart of decisions. Formulate an initial strategy for approval by the Team Leader. Conduct legal research. Negotiate with third‑party solicitors over the telephone. LIAISE with insured parties and insurers where necessary. Ensure actions are carried out according to the task list in the Case Management System. Accurately complete management information processes (MI). Process bills. Keep all files within ISO 9001 guidelines. Ensure compliance with SRA Standards & Regulations. Adhere to Keoghs values. Work effectively in a target‑driven environment. Court‑Process Responsibilities Draft defences. Complete direction questionnaires. Handle disclosure and exchange of evidence. Complete pre‑trial checklists. Instruct Counsel. Draft CPR Part 18 questions. Draft CPR Part 35 questions. Draft Counter‑schedules. Working Hours 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9 am – 5 pm (inclusive of a 1‑hour lunch break). Experience, Skills and Qualifications – Essential Experience of litigation and handling credit hire files with evidence of managing a caseload. Education – at least 5 GCSEs or equivalent; a degree or LPC is preferable. Ability to use own initiative, plan and prioritise workloads. Excellent listening and verbal communication skills. Good telephone negotiation skills. Adhere to work processes and strategy. Recognise when sensitivity and tact are required. Make decisions and remain calm under pressure. Good IT skills – Word, Outlook, and experience with a case management system (preferred). Adhere to Keoghs values. Experience, Skills and Qualifications – Desirable Experience of handling PI claims.
