Senior Buyer Kirkbymoorside Full time on site Salary on application Permanent We are looking for an experienced Senior Buyer to ensure the efficient and cost-effective supply of goods and services to support production and operations. Key Responsibilities Manage the full purchasing cycle from requisition to delivery, including expediting and resolving supplier issues. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships focused on improving quality, cost, delivery, and reliability. Conduct market analysis and negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to ensure best value. Place purchase orders in line with production schedules and planned demand. Monitor supplier performance in terms of cost, quality, and delivery. Obtain quotations for materials and services as required by internal stakeholders. Resolve invoice and delivery discrepancies promptly to support company cash flow. Produce reports and maintain accurate purchasing records and supplier files. Maintain good housekeeping and adhere to all safety and quality procedures. Skills and Experience Essential: Minimum 5 years’ purchasing experience within a manufacturing or engineering environment. Strong negotiation and communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word. Ability to interpret technical drawings. Detail-oriented, numerate, and able to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Team player with a flexible, proactive approach. Desirable: Experience with MRP systems. Formal qualifications in business, supply chain, or engineering. Additional Information Full-time, permanent position based in Kirkbymoorside.
