We look forward to hearing from you Applications will be considered at the time of applying.Main duties of the jobOperating from our main site in Paignton and ourbranch site in Torquay we care for upwards of 26,000 patients in an organisedand strong team environment. This means meeting for coffee every day, enjoyingour practice funded socials and being supportive to new members of our team.Our 22 GPs are currently supported by ANPs, Pharmacists, Paramedics and ARRSroles staff including Pharmacy Technicians, and Social Prescribers as well aslarge and experienced nursing, reception, and admin teams.We work well within the local community giving lots of opportunities forportfolio working including taking part within the Integrated care team, andany new roles that may be on the horizonWe have a good track record of welcoming trainees and newly qualified GPs intothe practice. We pride ourselves on being friendly and offering supportespecially in those first few months of transition. We have a duty doctor onhand each day with no booked patients ready to help with any queries that mayarise.Using Emis Web we run a hybrid system involving an acute, on the day triageteam and a planned pre-booked team every day.About usPembrokeMedical Group is a large GP practice with over 26,000 patients based inPaignton and Torquay in South Devon. Wehave 2 sites, our main site is in Preston, Paignton and we have a smaller site near the harbourside in Torquay. We are atraining practice for not only medical students and trainee GPs but alsostudent nurses and newly qualified pharmacists.As a practice we are always looking to improve our patients experienceand we are keen to embrace new digital solutions as part of this vision.Job responsibilitiesThe post-holder will manage a caseload and deal with a wide range of health needs in a primarycare setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered and temporary patients.Clinical Responsibilities: In accordance with the Practice timetable, as agreed, the post-holder will make him/her-selfavailable to undertake a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephoneconsultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeatprescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork and correspondence in a timely fashion.Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting problems, whetherself-referred or referred from other health care workers.Assessing the health care needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosedproblemsScreening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness In consultation with patients and in line with current Practice disease managementprotocols.Recording clear and contemporaneous consultation notes to agreed standardsCompiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptionsPrescribing in accordance with the Practice prescribing formulary (or generically) wheneverthis is clinically appropriateIn general the post-holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties andresponsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.Other Responsibilities within the Organisation:Awareness of and compliance with all relevant Practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribingPerson SpecificationQualificationsQualified GPMRCGPVocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGPGeneral Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of TrainingExperienceExperience of working in a primary care environmentExperience of continued professional developmentExperience of QOF and clinical auditMinimum of two years as a salaried GPGeneral understanding of the GMS contractExperience of medicines managementExperience of CCG initiativesFull GMC RegistrationNational Performers List registrationAppropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU)Eligibility to practice in the UK independentlySkillsExcellent communication skills (written and oral)Clear, polite telephone mannerCompetent in the use of Office and OutlookEffective time management (Planning & Organising)Ability to work as a team member and autonomouslyExcellent interpersonal skillsProblem solving & analytical skillsAbility to follow clinical policy and procedurePersonal QualitiesPolite and confidentFlexible and cooperativeMotivated, forward thinkerProblem solver with the ability to process information accurately and effectively, interpreting data as requiredHigh levels of integrity and loyaltySensitive and empathetic in distressing situationsAbility to work under pressure / in stressful situationsDisclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.£11,500 to £12,400 a session4 - 6 sessions per week #J-18808-Ljbffr
