OverviewUNLOCK YOUR BEST WORK LIFE+ MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO EVERY LIFEWe have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Substance Misuse Nurse to join our Substance Misuse team at HMP Leeds, a category B men's Prison located in Gloucester Terrace in the Armley area of Leeds in West Yorkshire.An integrated and friendly team who value strong culture and ensure everyone in the current team and new starters carry and hold the same PPG values. Lots of opportunity to develop and become more specialist in Health in Justice within substance misuse but also within primary care nursing.Hours37.5 hours a week working 3x 9.5 hour shifts and 1x 7.5 hour shift, a mix of day and nights. Shifts are flexible on when days/nights are worked. Day shifts are 7am–8:30pm and night shifts are 8pm–7:30am. Weekends will be one or two a month.SalaryThis position is full time, you’ll receive an annual salary up to £47,466 per annum FTE, depending on experience.How we will support youBespoke induction, including our Introducing Health in Justice training courseCompetency frameworkRegional and national career development opportunitiesOur bespoke Learning Management System to address your learning needsSupport from the wider teamCandidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.Main duties of the jobAs a Senior Substance Misuse Nurse, your responsibilities will vary. You will:Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, prioritising patient care to develop individualised packages of care through comprehensive assessment and recovery planningDeliver a range of treatment options including clinical and psychosocial interventions in both group and 1-1 settings with recovery at the centre of our healthcare wellbeing modelCarry out comprehensive assessments, initiate and review individual recovery plans and communicate the full range of treatment options available to service usersMonitor therapeutic responses to medication and potential side effects and liaise with prescribers; work with individuals on a 1-1 basis, providing advice and informationSupport in group work delivery and liaise with prescribers and Recovery Practitioners on clinical interventionsOccasionally be required to support dispensingHave an understanding and commitment to recovery and a person-centred approachCareer developmentIf you are interested in career development, we offer a wide range of opportunities to develop your skills and experience, including internal and external options for development and learning.BenefitsDiscounts on shopping and leisure activitiesSupport to grow in your role and continue your professional development24/7 employee assistance helpline and financial assistance when you need itAbout usThe Health in Justice team at Practice Plus Group makes a real difference across over 53 prisons, young offenders and immigration removal centres.
