Structural Design Engineer

Role: Structural Design Engineer Wykes Engineering seeks a skilled Structural Design Engineer to join our Engineering Department. In this role, you will design industrial steel structures for internal and external projects, applying expertise in structural design and a strong foundation in mechanical engineering. Key Responsibilities Proven experience in structural design of steel‑framed structures. Provide technical support during construction, resolve design issues, and ensure compliance with safety standards. Review shop drawings, assist with design modifications, and support project coordination. Solid understanding of relevant design codes and standards (e.g. BS EN). Ability to produce accurate structural calculations and detailed design drawings. Excellent problem‑solving skills and attention to detail. Strong communication skills for collaboration with engineers, contractors, and project teams. Essential Experience Familiarity with mechanical engineering principles and multidisciplinary projects. Knowledge of fabrication and erection processes for steel structures. Experience with 3D modeling tools (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.). Exposure to project coordination and reviewing shop drawings. Understanding of health and safety regulations in construction environments.
