By joining them, you’ll have the opportunity to not just be recognised for your skills but encouraged to build upon them and empowered to do your absolute best.What you'll be doingReporting directly to the Technical Claims Team Leader, you'll settle a variety of third-party property liability claims as economically as possible while maximising the speed of settlement and safeguarding the company’s reputation. You'll become an integral part of a centre of technical excellence for property liability claims, where you'll provide advice and guidance to colleagues and other business areas within Direct Line Group.Key accountabilitiesManage own portfolio of complex and/or higher value commercial direct property liability claims in accordance with personal delegated handling authority.Liaise with legal advisors (solicitors and counsel) where necessary over issues of policy indemnity and legal liability.Using the appropriate medium, negotiate a fair and reasonable settlement of the Third Party claim.Ensure knowledge of legal and procedural developments affecting claims handling is kept fully up to date. Where appropriate evaluate any relevant changes or developments, provide input into any impact assessment or determination of approach that should be taken by Direct Line and communicate results as necessary.Where appropriate provide technical advice and support to other business areas to support the achievement of business objectives and be aware and make others aware of developing market trends.Focus on costs, process improvements and/or efficiency to contribute to the profitability of Direct LineBe aware of and comply on an ongoing basis with the rules and requirements any legal/regulatory/risk management frameworks.Identify, own and manage the risks involved in running our business appropriate to the role, in line with the Direct Line risk framework.Whilst this is a property liability role, the team looks after a wide variety of liability claims and as such, there is an opportunity to progress and handle other liability claimsOur hybrid model offers a 'best of both worlds' approach.
