Job Details Closing date: 12 December 2025, 11:59pm Salary: £28,914 - £32,613 ▪ Grade: 4 Type: Full time Counter Terrorism Policing (CTP) is a collaboration of UK police forces working with the UK intelligence community to help protect the public and national security by preventing, deterring and investigating terrorist activity. Based at our modern offices near Birmingham International Airport, our Operational Development Unit (ODU) is a dedicated team responsible for the strategic management of Learning, Training and Exercising (LTE) within the CT Network. Role Overview We’re looking for a highly organised, committed individual with excellent IT skills and high levels of customer service to join us as a Business Support Officer, organising and administering training events and providing administrative support across the team. Responsibilities Organise and administer training events, including logistical arrangements, attendance and recording feedback. Support the ODU team by updating and recording training registration data and using booking systems. Record and maintain internal meetings, training, forums and workshops. Maintain and update course material, delegate information and joining instructions, ensuring documentation is available to delegates. Support meetings: minute‑taking, maintaining action logs, collating and circulating documentation and coordinating pre‑meet sessions. Order uniform, stationery and other consumables, using contracted suppliers. Maintain accurate finance records, including creating and processing invoices. Order refreshments/catering for meetings and courses. Undertake Health and Safety Coordinator responsibilities, including preparation for annual audit, ensuring staff receive adequate training and information, and actively participating in health and safety meetings. Ensure required Risk Assessments are in place. Report and record maintenance faults and follow up where required. Essential Skills and Competencies Experience working in a customer‑focussed environment utilising tact and diplomacy skills to influence and negotiate towards positive outcomes. Effective team‑working skills. Good organisational skills with the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, sometimes on own initiative without supervision. Excellent written, numeracy and verbal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders at variety of levels. Effective IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Experience of minute‑taking. Desirable Administration, planning and organising of large‑scale training events. Knowledge of Health and Safety in an office environment. A full driving licence. Security Clearance ⚠ This post requires British nationality (some dual nationalities may be ineligible) and an Enhanced Security Check Clearance. You will need to undergo additional security clearance checks, with the offer of employment being conditional on obtaining all necessary clearances. There are limitations on traveling to a small number of countries once in post.
