Warranty Engineer

Warranty Engineer / Technician – ZF Group We are seeking a skilled and proactive Warranty Engineer / Technician to join our team within the commercial vehicle products division at our location in Batley. Responsibilities Receive, register, and process customer claims and product returns related to commercial vehicle components. Conduct hands‑on product inspections, testing, and root cause analysis to determine failure modes. Prepare structured technical 8D reports using gained and documented knowledge. Communicate directly with customers and internal teams to gather information and provide feedback on investigations. Manage parts and components returned from stock clearances, ensuring correct handling, analysis, and documentation. Maintain accurate records within multiple business systems, including SAP, Salesforce, and OEM portals. Support the continuous improvement of product quality and field performance through data‑driven insights. Assist in developing and maintaining technical documentation, test procedures, and reporting templates. Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, and Customer Service teams to resolve recurring issues. Qualifications Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent qualification in Mechanical, Automotive, or Manufacturing Engineering. Proven experience in a technical, mechanical, or quality‑related role within an engineering or manufacturing environment (automotive or commercial vehicles preferred). Strong mechanical and technical aptitude, with the ability to interpret engineering drawings, test results, and component specifications. Understanding of root‑cause analysis and structured problem‑solving techniques. Competent IT skills with good knowledge of MS Office essential; experience of SAP & Salesforce preferable. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective customer interaction and internal collaboration. Strong report writing and documentation skills with attention to accuracy and detail. Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and work efficiently under time constraints. Benefits Compensation up to £45k per year (37‑hour week), depending on qualification and experience.
