Complementary therapies play a powerful role in helping ourpatients with symptom control and providing emotional benefits, as we aim tomaketheir lives a little easier at the most challenging time. As part of our Support and Wellbeing team,you will work closely with patients across adult and children's inpatient andoutpatient services, as well as their caregivers. You will also support staffand volunteers by providing person-centered therapeutic interventions. We are looking for an experienced andcompassionate therapist who can help us deliver a high-quality complementarytherapy service. You will need to have: Diploma in one or morecomplementary therapies (massage, reiki, aromatherapy) as a minimum Post registration experience asa therapist (experience in a health care setting is highly desirable) Membership/ Registration with arecognised professional association. Main duties of the job To be a keymember of the Complementary Therapy team contributing to the forward planningand development of complementary therapy services. To contributeto the effective and efficient delivery of care to patients with life limitingillness and their families. To promote the highestquality of complementary therapy care and support to inpatients, outpatients, wellbeing patients and community patients aswell as carers and the bereaved, workingalongside other members of the multi-disciplinary team. Towork unsupervised delivering and maintaining high standards of care to patientsand carers in Inpatients, Wellbeing, Outpatients and on occasions in thecommunity Toensure a comprehensive holistic assessment is undertaken prior to treatment andongoing evaluation of interventions. Toprovide a range of specified Complementary Therapies which meet a variety ofpatient/carer needs. Tocomply with the requirements of the Professional Code of Conduct and Practisein accordance with National guidelines for the use of Complementary Therapies inSupportive and Palliative Care. Person Specification Qualifications Professionally recognised qualifications in Complementary Therapies. Diploma in Body Massage Second Degree Reiki Membership of a professional association e.g. Federation of Holistic Therapies. Up to date Indemnity Cover Diploma in Aromatherapy Diploma in Reflexology Crystal Healing Oncology massage Other relevant training to the role Complementary Therapy qualification in relation to Palliative care or a willingness to undertake relevant palliative care training. Experience To be able to deliver a variety of therapies To have up to date Therapy Skills Evidence of previous practical experience delivering therapies To have experience working within palliative careTo have nursing/ caring experience To have experience of working with children Disclosure and Barring Service Check This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions. £26,808 to £29,418 a yearSalary based on 37.5 hours #J-18808-Ljbffr
