We offer a range of learning and development for all employees may you be clinical or non-clinical. Responsibilities Working as part of the multidisciplinary team focusing on the theatre team. To undertake the full range of tasks as theatre scrub practitioner in operating theatres. To act as a team leader, ensuring that both theatre and team are ready prior to theatre session start. To establish and maintain good communications with patients, their relatives, medical staff and other departments within the Trust in order to contribute to the provision of an effective Theatres service. To act as a resource person to others, providing accurate information, advice and support. Maintaining accurate patient records. To monitor and ensure compliance with Trust policies and legal requirements relating to clinical care, health & safety and infection prevention and control. To ensure accidents, incidents and complaints are fully documented and reported in line with Trust policy. To participate in responding to any such events, including the development of action plans to help prevent any re-occurrence. To ensure that equipment is handled correctly and is maintained in safe working order, teaching and assessing junior members of the team in the correct handling and maintaining of specified equipment. Report any equipment faults appropriately. To take a lead, as requested, in the formulation of procedures, policies and standards and to participate in clinical and organisational audits in order to further the development of a quality service for all users. Assist with the induction of new staff members. Act as practice supervisor and assessor to students and preceptor to junior staff. Participate in the completion of staff appraisals. Participate in clinical audits and support band 7 within the Clinical Governance process. Deputise band 7 as required. The successful candidate will demonstrate considerable theatre experience in ophthalmic surgery. The ability to demonstrate effective leadership and work in pressurized environment is essential. RN or RODP Post registration qualification/module in ophthalmic surgery ILS Certification Evidence of completed Senior Band 5 Development Programme or equivalent, Able to demonstrate considerable theatre experience in ophthalmic surgery Experience of teaching and assessing Clinical leadership experience Desirable criteria ALS Certification Evidence of professional development, You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
