A clear understanding of health & safety, legal and regulatory standards, maintaining compliance and best practice. Effective planning and organisation of workloads, ensuring efficient use of time, materials, transport and equipment to meet response targets. Competence in using PDAs or other systems to receive instructions, record completed work and manage materials. Ability to maintain vehicle stock levels to support first‑fix completion and uphold vehicle care and safety standards. Professional communication with customers, colleagues and supervisors, taking ownership of each repair and providing clear updates. Strong relationship‑building skills with residents, stakeholders and contractors to deliver excellent customer service. Willingness to participate in training and development to maintain skills and support flexible, multi‑trade working. Holding an NVQ Level 2 qualification in a core trade (Carpentry or Plumbing) with additional skills in at least one other trade (e.g. Drainage, Groundwork, Glazing, Plastering, Bricklaying or Painting).
