Lead Engineer – R&D Testing and NPD Location: NorfolkType: Permanent, Full-TimeHours: Monday–Friday 7:30 – 17:00 We are an established manufacturer of high-performance building products seeking an experienced R&D Testing and NPD Engineer Lead to join our expanding Technical and R&D team. The Role As the R&D Testing and NPD Engineer Lead, you’ll plan, coordinate, and deliver the company’s product testing and new product development programmes. You’ll ensure all products meet compliance, certification, and commercial standards while supporting innovation across the business. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver product testing and R&D projects in line with the company’s development roadmap Manage testing processes – scoping, quotations, and coordination with external test providers Prepare detailed technical documentation and certification submissions Carry out testing programmes, including ad‑hoc trials for bespoke projects Oversee project management aspects such as scheduling, budgeting, and reporting Work cross‑functionally with Technical, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to drive product and process improvements Liaise with certification bodies to create and maintain product scopes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements Produce or coordinate CAD drawings and technical documentation for internal and external use About You Proven experience in a technical, R&D, or product testing role – ideally within construction, manufacturing, or building products Familiarity with UK product certification standards such as EN1634‑1 or BS476 (advantageous) Excellent attention to detail, documentation, and analytical skills Strong communication skills with the ability to manage both internal and external stakeholders Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable working with data and internal systems CAD proficiency preferred but not essential A proactive, solutions‑focused mindset with strong commercial awareness What’s On Offer Opportunity to take ownership of R&D and product testing projects in a growing organisation Collaborative working environment with real scope for innovation Competitive salary and benefits package This is a mainly office‑based role, so successful candidates must live within a commutable area Interested?
