As Google's products and services scale the globe, the Strategic Negotiation team works behind the scenes to secure infrastructure for Google's future – everything from underwater cables to physical data center space. As a Strategic Negotiator, you combine your deep market knowledge of a given sector with tech industry savvy to negotiate cost‑effective solutions to support Google's infrastructure growth. You'll work with specific project teams on negotiating deals, managing vendor and partner relationships and presenting deal recommendations to our Tech leadership. Your successful negotiations have the potential to save Google millions of dollars in operating costs and impact every part of the business. As a Team lead, you will lead a team and a portfolio of initiatives, programs and campaigns across Europe, Middle‑East and Africa to ensure long‑term cost‑effective power supplies, maintain a path for growth for our data centers and energy‑related products, and meet our ambitious carbon‑free energy goals. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google’s product portfolio possible. We’re proud to be our engineers’ engineers and love voiding warranties by taking things apart so we can rebuild them. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible. Responsibilities Lead and manage a team of Energy Strategic Negotiators, directing high‑impact priorities and campaigns to reform energy policy and market regulations across Europe, Middle East and Africa. Manage strategic evaluations of risk/opportunities for Google’s EMEA energy portfolio and oversee all energy regulatory interventions and policy advocacy at local, national and EU level to secure data center capacity, support 24/7 carbon‑free electricity goals, and mitigate risks to operational costs. Direct the development and implementation of market solutions for electricity supply, including the design of regulatory engagement strategies and implementation tactics. Lead cross‑functional collaboration with internal teams to align and collaborate on the deployment of specific programs and campaigns, and develop and communicate Google’s energy positions.
