Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Warrington Start Date: After October Half TermContract Type: Full-Time, Temporary (potential for permanent placement)Salary: Pay-to-Scale, dependent on experience and qualifications A friendly and inclusive primary school in the Warrington area is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join their welcoming team. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident practitioner to make a real impact by supporting teaching and learning across the school, including delivering lessons and interventions to groups of pupils. Key Responsibilities Plan and deliver engaging learning activities to individuals, small groups, or whole classes in line with teacher planning and school curriculum. Provide high-quality support to pupils with SEN and additional learning needs, adapting approaches to meet individual requirements. Work collaboratively with class teachers to assess pupil progress and contribute to lesson planning and evaluations. Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and inclusion throughout the school. Supervise classes in the absence of the teacher, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment. Support the delivery of interventions and targeted programmes to raise attainment and progress. Educator Requirements Holds a Level 4 / HLTA qualification (or equivalent) – or significant classroom experience at this level. Possesses an Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willing to apply through Teaching Personnel). Demonstrates strong experience supporting primary-aged pupils, ideally including those with SEN or additional needs. Confident in leading lessons, delivering planned activities, and managing behaviour effectively. A proactive, adaptable, and caring professional with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
