It has a reputation for dynamism, integration of clinicians in management, and high quality patient care.The Ophthalmology Department has the opportunity to recruit a full‑time consultant with a specialist interest in Glaucoma to join our multidisciplinary team providing optimal care.The Trust provides comprehensive Ophthalmology care for the Huntingdon, Stamford, Peterborough, Ely and Fenland areas and also receives referrals from the wider region. For more information, please see the attached staff benefits leaflet.ResponsibilitiesContribute to and coordinate training of medical staff, hospital‑based optometrists and orthoptic staff within the NWAFT Glaucoma Ophthalmology service.Maintain responsibility for the care of patients in charge and ensure the proper functioning of the service, delegating appropriately and training staff.Day‑to‑day manage clinics and ensure in‑out patient services are covered during planned absences.Participate in shared‑care episodes, providing advice and support to clinicians in other services regarding patients who may have a combination of ocular problems.Contribute to the Medical Advisory Committee and serve on other hospital committees as required, unless compelling reasons prevent this.Participate in clinical governance and audit, meet annual training and continuous professional development requirements set out by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, and be part of the Trust’s appraisal scheme.All consultant staff and honorary consultants are expected to participate in clinical governance and audit, meet annual training requirements, and satisfy the annual continuous professional development requirements set out by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.This advert closes on Tuesday 30 Dec 2025 #J-18808-Ljbffr
