Salary – starts from £13.35 per hour, increases to £14.56 for stores inside the M25. Additional payments may apply depending on location. We offer a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week; if you prefer fewer, you can work as low as 12 hours per week. Availability windows – We will schedule your hours within these times and provide three‑week notice. Flexibility is welcomed. Sunday: 18:00 – 22:00 Wednesday: 09:00 – 19:00 Thursday: 09:00 – 19:00 Saturday: 18:00 – 22:00 Customers are at the heart of everything we do. As the face of Tesco on the road, you’ll deliver across the region, meeting and talking to customers in their homes every day. This role is about more than driving – it’s about helping others and delivering great service with a smile. It’s hands‑on, physical and full of variety. No two shifts are ever the same, and our customers look for help in many different ways. For most of the day you’ll feel like your own boss, but a team of Managers and colleagues will always be on hand to support you. Responsibilities Ensure the van and trays are clean and tidy. Leave the back yard clean, tidy and clear of rubbish, picking up litter as you see it. Wash trays as part of the tray‑wash process. Load the van as required, and check the van for roadworthiness. Communicate with customers about any changes to orders, including short‑code items and substitutions, and offer refunds for items they are unhappy with. Treat products and deliveries with care as if they were your own. Explain that customers will not be charged for substitutions. Deliver during the customer’s time slot. Call the customer before arriving early, and call the store/centre if running 30 minutes or more late. Qualifications / Minimum Requirements Build relationships with colleagues to create team spirit. Warm and welcoming in interactions with customers and colleagues, taking time to say "Thank you". Respond quickly to changing customer needs and embrace change within the store. Energetic and driven to deliver beyond expectations, integrating home and work to achieve a balanced life. Share ideas with your Manager and other colleagues on how to improve the store for customers. Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) for at least 12 months with no more than three penalty points.
