With the power of many curious minds, together we can solve the world’s most complex challenges and deliver more impact together.OverviewRole description: Arcadis actively seeks an Instrumentation & I&C Systems Engineer with 3+ years of experience to join our Water Division team in Wakefield, MA or Middletown, CT and be part of a larger dynamic SCADA / I&C team serving customers in the Northeast Region. The role involves providing SCADA/I&C technical and system integration services for diverse clients and projects in industrial & municipal water and wastewater facilities.Role accountabilitiesSpecifications: Prepare engineering specifications, drawings, and calculations in support of engineering activities involving control systems for various unit processes in water/wastewater; prepare reports, studies, and calculations.Cross-Collaboration: Coordinate with process/mechanical, electrical and other disciplines as needed. Review manufacturer information to ensure compliance with specifications.Programming: Develop P&IDs, basic control schematics, panel layout diagrams, instrument installation details, and plans. Configure unit process control logic in PLCs/OITs on multiple platforms, and configure graphical HMIs, data archiving, and reporting solutions.Travel: Minimal travel to client sites and other Arcadis offices as needed, including short-term regional travel for meetings and site visits.Project Ownership: Manage small projects or tasks within larger projects and multi-task across assignments; demonstrated skill may lead to more responsibility.Qualifications & ExperienceRequired Qualifications3+ years of overall experienceBachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, Environmental, or related engineering fieldEIT certification, or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire and ability to obtain Professional registration when eligibleBasic knowledge of PLC controls, SCADA and IT/network conceptsProficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project, Outlook)Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; willingness to travel (≈25%)Preferred QualificationsControl Signals and Systems or Instrumentation coursework; Water/Wastewater Process Control coursework; PLC/HMI courseworkKnowledge of AutoCADExperience on water and wastewater projectsPLC/HMI programming experienceWhy Arcadis?We empower people to be their best and value diverse experiences.
