Work Placement Co-ordinator (Maternity Cover)Location: Preston (Sixth Form/College)Start Date: January 2026Contract: 1-Year Fixed Term (Maternity Cover)Salary:Point 17 - £34,253 per annum (actual: £29,554.61)Point 19 - £36,564 per annum (actual: £31,548.61)Closing Date: Wednesday 4th DecemberAbout the RoleA highly regarded sixth form college in Preston is seeking a proactive, relationship-driven Work Placement Co-ordinator to join their team from January 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in developing meaningful and high-quality work experience opportunities for learners across the college.You will act as an ambassador for the college, forging strong relationships with employers, supporting learners on placement, and ensuring all placements meet safeguarding and health & safety requirements.This role is ideal for someone with excellent communication skills, strong organisational ability, and a passion for supporting young people in gaining valuable workplace experience.Key ResponsibilitiesEmployer Engagement & Relationship ManagementBuild, maintain and strengthen relationships with employers, businesses and placement providers.Proactively engage with new and existing employers to expand placement opportunities.Ensure employers and learners fully understand expectations, support arrangements and review processes.Learner SupportArrange and oversee tailored support for learners with SEND/LLDD to help them access suitable placements.Track, monitor and record student progress throughout their work placements.Liaise with course leaders to provide feedback on learner development, skills and behaviours.Compliance, Safeguarding & AdministrationMaintain accurate records of all employers and placement activity.Work closely with the Health & Safety Manager to ensure all workplace procedures - including risk assessments - are compliant.Adhere to safeguarding policies, especially regarding students on placement.Handle employer and placement enquiries promptly and professionally.Provide accurate administrative support across all work placement functions.Collaboration & College ContributionWork collaboratively with teaching and support staff to develop and refine placement processes.Support managers with additional duties when required.Contribute positively to the college's Equality & Diversity practices.How to ApplyIf you're enthusiastic, organised, and passionate about supporting students to thrive in real-world environments, we encourage you to apply.Please submit your CV and supporting information before Wednesday 4th December #J-18808-Ljbffr
