Teach Now is seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a Year 2 pupil with autism and ADHD in a warm, inclusive, and nurturing primary setting in Havering. This role is ideal for someone patient, proactive, and passionate about helping children with additional needs thrive.

About the Role

You will be supporting a calm, friendly pupil who responds well to structure and consistency. The role:

• Does not require personal care

• Involves working closely 1:1 to support learning and emotional regulation

• Requires implementing clear routines and tailored strategies

• Focuses on helping the pupil remain engaged, confident, and motivated

• Includes liaising with teachers, SENDCo, and parents to support progress

Candidate Requirements

• Previous experience supporting children with SEN—particularly autism and ADHD

• Strong behaviour management and a calm, structured approach

• A nurturing, patient, and consistent manner

• Ability to follow individual support plans and adapt learning activities

• Commitment to helping the child grow academically, socially, and emotionally
