Youth Justice Officer

OverviewThe role is centred on delivering high‑quality Youth Justice services in line with National Standards, local policies and inter‑agency procedures. It involves working directly with children and young people who are involved in or at risk of offending, as well as engaging with their parents, carers, and wider support networks. The postholder will carry out comprehensive assessments, plan and deliver targeted interventions, and manage risks to victims, the public and the young person themselves. This is a dynamic role that requires working across a range of settings, including the office, community venues, family homes, educational establishments, courts, police stations, secure estates and other Children’s Services environments. The post includes working flexibly outside normal office hours, including weekends and bank holidays, to ensure effective service delivery. A key part of the role is working collaboratively with multi‑agency partners such as Health, Education, Police, Courts, the Secure Estate, Probation, Housing, other local authorities, and voluntary and third‑sector organisations. Internally, the postholder will contribute to a “One Coventry” approach by working closely with colleagues across Children’s Services and wider council teams. Who are we looking for?
