Overview Are you passionate about outdoor learning and the benefits that this brings to learners who struggle to 'fit' into the mainstream system? This may be the job for you Our client, a leading independent education provider in Brislington, City of Bristol, is seeking a passionate and experienced Forest School Leader to join their dedicated team on a full-time basis (there is flexibility around this for the right candidate). The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality Forest School sessions to children and young people, promoting their personal, social, and emotional development through engaging outdoor activities. Responsibilities As a Forest School Leader, you will be tasked with planning, preparing, and delivering Forest School sessions that align with the ethos and principles of Forest School education, alongside delivery of a core skills curriculum. You will work closely with children and young people, encouraging them to explore the natural environment, develop new skills, and build confidence through hands‑on learning experiences. Your role will involve creating a safe and supportive atmosphere where learners can take risks, challenge themselves, and develop a deep appreciation for the outdoors. In addition to leading Forest School sessions, you will be responsible for maintaining a safe and welcoming woodland site, ensuring that all equipment and resources are well‑maintained and fit for purpose. You will conduct regular risk assessments and adhere to health and safety guidelines to ensure the wellbeing of all learners and staff. As a key member of the team, you will collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement innovative Forest School programmes that meet the needs of diverse groups of children and young people. You will also liaise with parents, carers, and other professionals to provide regular feedback on participants' progress and achievements. Qualifications To be considered for this role, you should hold a recognised Level 3 Forest School Leader qualification and have a minimum of two years' experience in delivering Forest School sessions to children and young people. A relevant teaching qualification, such as a PGCE or QTS, would be highly advantageous. You should have a deep understanding of the principles and ethos of Forest School education, as well as a genuine passion for outdoor learning and child development including SEND. Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills are essential, as is the ability to work effectively as part of a team. A valid first aid qualification, such as First Aid at Work or Outdoor First Aid, is required. A full, clean driving licence is also necessary, as the role may involve travelling between different sites. Benefits Our client offers a competitive salary range of £32,000 to £34,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience. As an employee, you will benefit from a comprehensive package that includes: Company Pension Free Car Parking Provision of Uniform Family‑Friendly Employer Private Health Scheme How to Apply If you are a dedicated and enthusiastic Forest School Leader who is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of children and young people, we would love to hear from you. Please submit your CV and a covering letter outlining your relevant experience and qualifications to our client's HR department.
