Position Details Location: St Andrews and St Brides High School, Platthorn Drive, East Kilbride, G74 1NL Hours: 12 hours per week on a term‑time basis Work Pattern: Thursday 8 am – 3 pm and Friday 8 am – 2:30 pm Hourly Rate: £13.64 – £13.79 per hour Role Overview Community Resources seeks to recruit an Assistant Cook‑in‑Charge to ensure the efficient operation and management of a quality catering service within a premise and to be responsible for the supervision of a team of Facilities Assistants (Catering). Key Responsibilities Allocate duties, create work rotas, provide basic routine training and maximise attendance. Carry out clerical and financial duties associated with the catering function, prepare meals, order goods, conduct quality audits and Environmental Health action points, and comply with food safety systems. Ensure the provision of a quality service and advise management of any stock or quality control issues. Conduct cash counting, balancing and record financial transactions (CDCH3). Prepare, cook and present a varied selection of menu items. Manage function work as required and transfer food items within and to the kitchen for serving. Perform practical tasks related to storage, preparation, cooking and service of food, including cleaning of floors, walls, food production areas, equipment and utensils. Key Competencies Effective communication skills and ability to work independently, prioritise workload, be a committed team player, and demonstrate previous experience of providing a customer‑oriented service.
