What does an Operations Associate do?
Based in our London office, you'll be part of our Operations team. The primary function of this team is to ensure that we have the right stock in the right place at the right time. Sounds simple, no? Not quite so straightforward when you consider our increasingly international presence
As an Operations Associate, you will develop the ability to analyse data, draw conclusions and implement action plans based on your findings. You will be eager to apply your skills in a business environment, contributing to our sophisticated logistics operations. You will have a strong interest in the intricacies of international logistics, managing the buying and selling of goods across various locations and channels. You will focus on minimising costs whilst consistently meeting our customers' expectations. This role offers you the opportunity to take on significant responsibilities early in your career, making it an exciting prospect for you.
Our ideal candidate would be someone who...
- Works quickly and accurately with an eye for detail.
- Has strong computer and digital skills. We are looking for someone that likes working with data and enjoys using software like Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets.
- Can work autonomously.
- Communicates clearly and succinctly.
- Is driven to succeed, with a passion to help our business grow.
- Enjoys having responsibility from day one for their work; you're keen to build a reputation for yourself as a reliable team member who performs to a consistent high standard.
- Wants to become an expert in this field. The more you learn, the more of an asset you'll be to our team.
Responsibilities
Core responsibilities:
- Manage stock replenishment – ensuring stock is in the right place at the right time. This will help to maintain sales momentum and maximise revenue.
- Data management and analysis – we are a data driven business. We use the sales and stock data available to us to analyse and make important business decisions.
- Working with and managing logistics partners – our partners are an extension of the core team. We pride ourselves on our relationships and need to maintain and strengthen them.
- Ensure freight and logistics costs are competitive, correctly quoted and invoiced.
- Create efficiencies - we are always looking for new, creative and innovative ways to improve our supply chain and logistics to speed up our operations and run it more cost efficiently.
And once you've mastered the core responsibilities you'll also be involved in:
- Forecasting – making intelligent assessments based on the data to decide how much stock is going to be required throughout the year.
- Assisting in the setup of new logistics networks, new warehousing and creating new partnerships with third party suppliers – new projects are popping up all the time and there will be plenty of opportunities to assist in business expansion activities.
- We support other teams by providing them with relevant business updates using the data available to us. We do this by creating relevant reports and digestible data that can inform high level decision making.
