Senior Child Safety Practitioner/Senior Child Safety Officer – FDV The Department of Communities brings together the services and functions of disability services, child protection and family support, community initiatives and regional services reform. The Opportunity There is currently 1 permanent position available for immediate filling in Derby. As a Senior Child Safety Officer/Senior Child Safety Practitioner Family Domestic Violence you will provide services to families and individuals who are experiencing or contributing to domestic violence. As a Senior Child Safety Officer Family Domestic Violence (CSU L3) / Senior Child Safety Practitioner Family Domestic Violence (CSQ L2) your day to day may involve: Provide a service in conjunction with WA Police Force to families and individuals who are experiencing or contributing to domestic violence. Assist identified families and individuals in obtaining support and services to deal with domestic violence. Engage with community groups and other agencies in promoting relevant support and coordination for clients experiencing domestic violence. Undertake initial safety assessments of individuals and families experiencing domestic violence. Whilst based in Derby, your position forms part of the West Kimberley Family Domestic Violence Response Team. The team is comprised of 2 other Senior Child Safety Practitioners, WA Police Force Officers and Coordinated Response Service workers. As part of your role, you will be supported with regular opportunities for travel to Broome, Fitzroy Crossing and other remote communities. In Derby you will also work alongside your colleagues from the Derby Office teams, which include a Care Team and a Child Safety / Intensive Family Support Team.
