But no matter what their skills and experience, all our Foster Carers rely on support and guidance from our Supervising Social Workers, Support Workers and Managers.About the Role:As a Supervising Social Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting and supervising our foster carers to ensure that children and young people receive the highest standards of care. You will work closely with carers, children, and other professionals to promote positive outcomes and stable placements.The post will be based from our Chorley (Lancashire) office although some working from home will be permitted with prior approval from the Registered Manager / Practice Manager. Flexible working hours are essential. We require a commitment to some weekend work and unsocial hours to support foster carers, foster carer training, and children and young people. The post-holder will join a rota of social workers who provide the first response on an ‘out of hours’ basis (supported by a manager on call) and will involve being on duty overnight and at weekends.So, if you are passionate about improving the lives of looked-after children and want to be part of a team that truly values its staff and carers, we would love to hear from you.Key Responsibilities:Provide regular supervision, support, and guidance to foster carersUndertake assessments, including Form F and annual reviewsEnsure foster placements are safe, stable, and meet the individual needs of children & carersWork collaboratively with local authorities and other stakeholdersMaintain accurate and up-to-date records and reportsParticipate in an out-of-hours rotaWhat we are looking for:Social Work qualification (DipSW, BA, MA, or equivalent)Registration with Social Work EnglandExperience in fostering or children’s social careStrong assessment, report writing, and communication skillsFull UK driving licence and access to a vehicleEnhanced DBS complianceWhat We Offer:Salary up to £42,200 per annum (this includes car allowance & on call remuneration)Mileage additional to salaryExtensive training and career progressionAccess to Paycare and Employee Assistance ProgrammeContributory PensionLong Service RewardsFamily Care is committed to safeguarding and always promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects the post holder to share this commitment.
