1:1 SEND Teaching Assistant Primary School Walsall Are you passionate about supporting individual children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)? Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a pupil with SEND in a friendly and inclusive mainstream primary school on a long‑term basis. Location: Birmingham and Surrounding AreasPosition: 1:1 SEND Teaching AssistantType of Work: One‑to‑one support for a child with SEND within a mainstream primary classroomStart Date: ASAP – SeptemberDuration: OngoingContract: Long-term (potential to go permanent)Hours: 8:30 am – 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday (term time only) The Role Provide 1:1 support for a pupil with specific SEND needs (e.g. autism, ADHD, speech & language difficulties) Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals Adapt learning materials and approaches to suit the child’s individual needs Support the pupil’s academic, social, and emotional development Maintain accurate records of progress and share feedback with the wider team Contribute to a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment Ideal Candidate Experience supporting children with SEND in a school setting (essential) Experience in a 1:1 role or similar (preferred) Minimum Level 2 qualification in education or childcare (essential) Calm, compassionate and proactive in supporting additional needs Effective communication with colleagues, children and families Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) Requirements to Work with Prospero Teaching Right to work in the UK Valid, enhanced child barred list DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) Two child‑related professional references covering the last two years To Apply If you would like to learn more or discuss the role further, please contact the Birmingham office.
