Job Title: Vice President of Finance, Europe & UK

Reports To: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Citizenship: Must be a UK or EU citizen.

Location: This role will be based at one of the company's UK hotels, with occasional travel across Europe.

Company Overview: A leading global hospitality brand, operating more than 20 hotels in the category of 4 and 5-star hotels across Europe and the UK. With a dynamic and growth-oriented culture, our client is looking for an experienced and strategic finance leader to join our team as the Vice President of Finance for Europe and the UK.

Position Overview: The Vice President of Finance, Europe & UK, will be responsible for overseeing the financial operations of our portfolio of hotels in these regions. This senior leadership role requires an individual with strong experience in UK taxation, corporate finance, auditing, and treasury functions, as well as a deep understanding of the complexities of the hospitality sector. The successful candidate will be an integral part of the executive leadership team, working closely with the CFO and other senior leaders to drive financial performance, ensure compliance, and support strategic business initiatives across the company's European and UK operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Strategy and Leadership: Develop and execute financial strategies to support the growth and profitability of the company's hotels in the UK and Europe.
  • Financial Reporting and Compliance: Oversee accurate and timely financial reporting, ensuring compliance with local and international accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
  • Taxation and Corporate Finance: Lead all aspects of UK taxation, ensuring efficient tax planning and compliance, while managing corporate finance functions, including capital structure, financing, and investments.
  • Auditing and Internal Controls: Supervise the auditing process, working with external auditors and ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and internal control procedures.
  • Treasury Management: Oversee the company's treasury activities, including cash flow management, risk management, and funding strategies.
  • Strategic Planning and Performance Management: Partner with the CFO and executive team in formulating business plans, financial forecasts, and strategic decisions to optimize financial outcomes.
  • Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team across Europe and the UK, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
  • Stakeholder Management: Act as a key point of contact for financial matters with internal and external stakeholders, including hotel managers, senior executives, investors, and regulators.

Qualifications:

  • Education: A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field. A professional qualification (ACCA, ACA, CIMA, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
  • Experience:
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive financial leadership experience in a corporate finance, auditing, and treasury role, with at least 5 years at a senior management level.
  • Strong background in UK taxation and corporate finance, with proven expertise in auditing and internal controls.
  • Experience working in the hospitality industry is highly desirable.
  • Proven track record in managing complex financial operations across multiple locations and countries.
  • Exceptional financial analysis, strategic thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong knowledge of UK and European financial regulations, tax laws, and corporate governance standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership and team development abilities.
