Job Title: Management Accountant Contract Type: Permanent About the Role A growing SME based on the outskirts of Southampton, widely regarded as a local success story, is seeking a Management Accountant to join the finance team. Reporting to the FD this is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and detail‑oriented professional who’s passionate about delivering insightful financial analysis and driving business performance. As a Management Accountant, you’ll play a key role in producing accurate financial information, supporting strategic decision‑making, and ensuring robust financial control across the business. Key Responsibilities Prepare monthly management accounts and variance analysis Support budgeting and forecasting processes Provide financial insights to support operational and strategic decisions Monitor and report on key financial performance indicators Reconcile balance sheet accounts and maintain accurate financial records Work closely with department heads to understand financial drivers and improve cost efficiency Maximise ERP functionality to track gross profit margins and variance rebates About You We’re looking for someone who is proactive, analytical, and thrives in a fast‑paced environment. You’ll need strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly. Part‑qualified or fully qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA or equivalent) Experience in management accounting or similar finance role Strong Excel, systems and data analysis skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Seniority level Mid‑Senior level Employment type Full‑time Job function Finance Industries Accounting Chalk Hill Group is a Recruitment Agency.
