You will be responsible for the comprehensive assessment, formulation, and delivery of specialist interventions for a diverse patient caseload. Job description Clinical Leadership: Provide strong, daily clinical leadership to the mental health team, ensuring the delivery of high-standard, evidence-based care. Patient Care: Hold a complex caseload, conducting comprehensive assessments, formulating risk management plans, and delivering specialist psychological interventions. Supervision & Support: Provide professional supervision, mentorship, and support to Band 5 nurses and other junior staff, fostering a positive learning environment. Multi-Disciplinary Working: Act as a key senior contact within the multi-disciplinary team (MDT), collaborating with healthcare, prison staff, and external agencies to coordinate seamless patient care. Service Development: Contribute to the ongoing development and evaluation of clinical services, participating in clinical audit and promoting best practices. Clinical Governance: Uphold high standards of clinical governance, ensuring all care is delivered safely, effectively, and compassionately in line with professional and prison security protocols. Person Specification Qualifications A valid professional registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) with the NMC. Substantial post-registration experience working in a mental health setting. Proven experience in a senior or leadership capacity (e.g., Band 6 or equivalent), including supervising others. Experience in conducting complex risk assessments and formulating management plans. The ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Excellent communication, leadership, and decision-making skills. A non-judgmental and resilient approach to working with a complex patient population. Prison Clearance: The ability to obtain and maintain HM Prison and Probation Service security clearance is a mandatory and non-negotiable condition for this role. Previous experience working within a forensic, secure, or prison mental health service.
